# Manage card status

The Manage Card Status tool lets you deactivate a physical card associated with a Line of Credit loan and optionally request a replacement. Use this tool when a borrower reports a card as lost, stolen, or damaged, or when a card needs to be deactivated for fraud or other reasons.

**Availability:** All clients
**Required permissions:** `card:update` (to change status); `card.replace` (to request replacement)
**Loan status:** No restriction
**Loan types:** Line of Credit only

## Manage card status

1. From the agent-view Borrower Portal, open the Line of Credit loan and select **Loan options** > **Manage card status**.
2. Select the **Card** to manage from the dropdown. If the borrower has multiple cards, each card is listed with an identifying label.
3. Select the **Reason** for the status change from the dropdown.
4. If you have the `card.replace` permission, optionally select **Request replacement card** to issue a new card to the borrower.
5. If a replacement fee is configured for your company, optionally select **Assess replacement fee** to charge the fee to the borrower. The fee amount is displayed next to the checkbox.
6. If a rush delivery fee is configured for your company, optionally select **Assess rush delivery fee** to charge the rush delivery fee. The fee amount is displayed next to the checkbox.
7. Select **Update card status**.


The card is deactivated with the selected reason. If a replacement was requested, the system initiates the replacement process and any applicable fees are charged to the loan.
